MedEd ALPs

MedEd ALPs

We learned from your industry! The incorporation of ALPs was used in developing this event to ensure maximum learning, retention, and behavioral change for YOU, the adult learner. Keep an eye out for these symbols throughout the brochure to see where each applies.
Needs Assessment & Self- Directed Learning: Attendees are sent a pre-event form to help them understand what sessions will be most beneficial. You have 5 different tracks to choose from. Only attend presentations that fit YOUR educational goals and learning gaps.
Panel Debates: Panels are reserved for topics that foster differing points of view. Panels are designed to help facilitate audience participation and drive action plans for change.
You Talk: No PowerPoint, no presenters, no lectures. Just interaction, ideas, discussion. Attendees will be polled before the event to establish the hottest topics for discussion. Then pick the roundtable you’d most like to participate in. The featured presenter is… you.
Audience Response: AVRS is incorporated into presentations to poll the consensus of the learners and encourage you to benchmark your ideas against those of your colleagues.
PowerPoint Presentations: Ppt is used for NEW information being released that you need to have. These sessions are all about knowledge download.
Mock Reviews: In-depth sessions that take you through a mock grant review from development, to submission, to review, to acceptance. These sessions are designed to help you really drive the theory of what you’ve learned into practice.
Behavioral Change: Don’t have time to sit back and take it all in? Dedicated ‘think and synthesize’ sessions to determine how you can translate new ideas into action back at the office. Designed to maximize your retention and ensure behavioral change after the event.
Learning Gaps: New learning needs are happening all the timeyou can’t predict now what you’ll need to know in May. With this in mind, we’ve left open several ‘hot topic’ sessions throughout the program. Email your ideas leading up to the event to ensure we cover the most timely material.
Outcomes Feedback: Take advantage of dedicated times to write down a commitment you have to yourself to change when you get back to the office. An email will be automatically sent to you 2 months after the event with a reminder of your goal and a friendly “did you achieve it” prompt!
Continuous Performance Improvement: The evaluation forms at the event will be used to determine what sessions were most beneficial to your learning behaviors in terms of format, content, & delivery to enable the Congress to tailor future events based on your needs. Attendees are also encouraged to propose new topics to be posted on the MedEd website to help you continue the conversation with your peers after the event.
